What is Helping Hands?

Helping Hands is a ministry of First Baptist Church of Covington to provide assistance to our members who are physically or financially unable to perform repairs or services around their house. It is also available to our community to assist new churches or churches needing revitalization through construction needs.

Projects could include minor painting, light bulb replacement, change air filters, small plumbing or electrical jobs, carpentry work, yard cleanup, and gutter cleaning. Where there is a need, no job is too small.

There will be opportunities for all skill levels as well as opportunities for families to work together on projects.

Requests must made using a Helping Hand’s request form, which will require personal information, the scope of the work, and a desired time for the work to be done. This is available in the office.

Emergency requests will be handled only if a volunteer is available to respond.

The ministry is to provide labor only. You are to provide materials or supplies or provide funds to the Church in advance so that we may purchase them at the time the work is to be preformed. Some exceptions will be considered if you are financially not able to pay for the materials or supplies depending on the funds available in the Helping Hands Budget.
